In the final stage of our product design, we generate project documentation including 2D drawings and source files of the final models that will enable the manufacturer to produce the parts and understand the assembly. Sometimes there will be feedback from the manufacturer about some aspects of the design, which might require making an iteration.

The deliverables may consist of various elements such as intricate drawings, CAD models, tangible prototypes, and visual representations. These outputs serve as foundational resources for subsequent stages of development, including mechanical engineering, software/firmware integration, and electrical engineering, contributing to the further advancement of the product.

The specific tasks in this stage can vary based on the requirements of both the client and the manufacturer. They often involve assisting with tooling setup and providing technical guidance during production. Communication with both the manufacturer and the client to address technical questions and provide advice is also a key aspect. Additionally, this stage may involve reviewing off-tool samples and documenting the results for further evaluation and improvement.

As Industrial Designers, our aim is to create products that find the right blend of being practical, valuable, and good-looking. We bridge the gap between abstract, concrete, and sometimes conflicting ideas, emotions, and real-world needs, translating them into tangible results that define a product's success and its lasting appeal in the market. As part of the broader product development field, Industrial Designers play a key role in ensuring products are well-rounded and successful by focusing on what's important to people. HonePD offer a range of services designed to give our clients the support & tools you need to get your products into the market successfully.

The stages outlined in the following article are typically offered to clients as part of a pipeline planning service offering.
