Farmo's Water Rat is a highly sophisticated but easy to set-up tank and trough water sensor designed for the Agricultural sector.

The Product was established to improve efficiency and certainty for farmers via giving them knowledge directly on their smartphone regarding the water levels of their Stock watering troughs or water tanks. This saves time usually spent periodically, manually, checking troughs, and offers peace of mind their livestock have access to water.

This agricultural product design allows the user to simply drop it into a Farm stock watering trough or tank, and when the level drops it will send an alert to the user’s phone to let them know that they have a problem with the trough. The product can then be easily moved from trough to trough as livestock are moved, and requires effectively no setup.

hone.pd were pleased to work with Nick, the founder of Farmo on the plastic molding design to develop this product. Nick and his Electronic Engineers have done a fantastic job designing the products' electronics including an IoT communication system, as well as the user interface. hone.pd supported the team via design of the products enclosure, meeting the requirements which included buoyancy, robustness for the livestock environment, water ingress prevention, and allowing communications to transmit effectively through the housing.

Nick and team at Farmo are now selling The Water Rat, among other useful products for this sector; and are continuing to develop further products.
