The mission of Stay Tray founder Kate Stewart is to do good and make a positive impact with her product. To accommodate the additional costs that come with local designing, tooling and manufacturing, a Kickstarter campaign has been set up to assist with the production of two new additions and variations to the Stay Tray family, ensuring that the tray remains a 100% Australian product. The first is a smaller two cup tray, perfect for personal use or smaller households. The second addition is an insertable clip that will make it possible to carry thinner cups and bottles.

While kickstarter is a brilliant crowdfunding tool for innovative ideas, it also has a great deal of value for businesses as a marketing tool that can generate a huge amount of exposure and publicity. Outdoor tech company KNOG is known for generating huge amounts of publicity with their successful Kickstarter campaigns. Their Oi Bell (bicycle bell) generated a staggering $1 million, and while you cannot ignore the value that comes from capital revenue, there is arguably comparable (if not greater) value gained through the campaign’s exposure. Similarly, we would like to promote the Stay Tray, and their campaign, as a product well deserving of our support for its positive social and environmental impact.
