“All wrapped up here sir! Will there be anything else?” Said J.A.R.V.I.S. after the exhilarating action-packed battle scene on an oil rig in Iron Man 3. Since the premiere of the Iron Man movie series, J.A.R.V.I.S. (Just A Rather Very Intelligent System) has played a major role in Tony Stark’s awesome super-hero capabilities and has made the films’ scenes more futuristic. That future, where you could command your home, communications, and life like a wealthy super-hero is now one step closer thanks to the Duo Ai.

Duo AI is a mirror with an intelligent personal assistant named Albert. The mirror is of a minimalistic aesthetic that blends well into any room. Like the other AI assistants in the market, Albert is voice controlled, giving you the ability to easily operate your smart home devices such as smart light bulbs, air conditioning, and electronic door locks.

What is unique about Duo’s industrial design, and what makes it more exciting than other home AI products, is its visual user interface. Concealed behind the mirror is a 27-inch screen that glows through it to present graphics with a futuristic feel. In addition to voice, the interface is controlled through touch allowing you to reach beyond your own reflection to control your home. You can even check the news, weather, and messages all on the mirror while getting ready in the morning.

The excitement around Duo which is now on pre-order is a reminder of how important good user interfaces are in the design of products. Hopefully, Albert will have figured out how to prevent fingerprint smudges on the mirror by the time Duo launches.
